Anthony Neilson
Here's an approach to playmaking which is both exciting and unique. Neilson's a bit like Mike Leigh on crack, or maybe speed. What Neilson does is start rehearsing with an idea for a script, and then he directs actors into developing the scenes before he writes the play. The results are usually extreme and unsettling, but also powerfully moving and mesmerising. It's raw from start to finish and keeps you guessing until finally, you draw your own conclusions.
